July 5, 2008- Mike Einziger's
"End.>Vacuum"
Recently, I had the
pleasure of being invited to Los Angeles to conduct an interview
with Incubus guitarist
Mike Einziger on the subject of his upcoming
orchestral side
project "End.>Vacuum" which is set to debut at UCLA in August.
For the whole story behind the trip...

installments
of the interview below.
PART ONE
PART TWO
June 23, 2008- The Andrew and
Matt Show
It has always been a
proud Mister Films tradition to issue some kind of over-blown and
over-stated announcement at the start of a new project. This time, however,
it's more of a little teaser... to be followed by the over-statement later.
Click here to check out a slideshow of photos by Ran
An, taken on the set of our new series of comedy short films. "The
Andrew and Matt Show"
is an online, scripted series chronicling two best friends who set out to
make an online scripted comedy series called "The
Matt and Andrew Show".
Confused? Good.
Production runs through August. More info to come.
May 8, 2008- It's Gonna Be a
Great Day, SA
Recently, some
classmates and I volunteered to take a peek behind the scenes of live broadcast
television. Four of us took on the project of shooting, editing and
producing a behind the scenes segment for local San Antonio morning show
Great Day, SA.
There was a day of observing, a day of shooting and three weeks of editing
to turn four hours of stock into 3 minutes of glory.
So, after all was said and done, we were invited to appear on the show to
present the segment on air. Check out our interview segment featuring the
actual piece below...
There's also a
blog, but it just reiterates everything I just wrote.
April 11, 2008- Spin 6 Turns 5
Yes, yes it's been a
while but rest assured- stuff is coming.
In the meantime, we're here to celebrate the 5th anniversary of our second
full length feature-
Spin 6.
To commemorate the occasion, we'd also like to announce that the long in the
making Spin 6: Deluxe Edition DVD
will finally see the light of day this summer. For a nostalgic look back,
including a peek at everything to be included on the deluxe set...
click to your
hearts content.
And as an added bonus- here's an abridged version of the 12 minute outtake
reel created especially for the 5th anniversary.
Ah, memories.
November 10, 2007- Thanks for
all the Fish
Well, voting for the
2007 Insomnia Film Festival
has officially closed and now all we can do is wait and hope that our little
Melody has a chance in hell. Either way, a
great big thanks is owed to many of our friends. First off,
Robin An and
Tim Simpson for posting our info on their
respective websites.
The Austin Film Society
for including us in their weekly announcements. To
Sarah Palisi
for donating her talents to some kick-ass poster art and all the countless
others who were nice enough to join us in the massive internet promotional
campaign.
And, of course, an equally big thanks to everyone who voted for, liked or
just plain watched the flick.
Apple announces not only the top 25 videos but also the winners on November
20th.
November 5, 2007- Making

2007 Insomnia Film Festival-
we present the third and final installment in the "Making Melody" series.
Part 3: Post-Production
October 28, 2007- Making
Melody: Parts 1 & 2
As promised, the
"making of" series for
Melody is in full swing. Check out the first two
episodes below.
And remember- help us out by
voting for the movie (voting = giving us a high
rating).
Part 1: Production
Part 2: "Don't Tempt Me"
October 21, 2007- Melody @ The
2007 Insomnia Film Festival Today we welcome
into the Mister Films repertoire the brand new short
Melody. And surprise!... it was made for a
contest. Apple's annual 24 Hour Film
Festival to be exact.
Last Saturday at 8am CST, our team was presented with a list of elements to
incorporate into a 3 minute film that had to be written, shot, edited,
scored and uploaded within 24 hours and this is what we came up with.
And now the important part. To win this thing, we're going to need the
ratings of YOU the viewer. You can watch the movie on
YouTube but to rate it and help us rise to
the top of the over 3,000 submissions, please go
HERE and give us some high marks. There
will be a making of series chronicling the 24 hours of fun we had making the
movie coming soon.
September 22, 2007- The
Collection Come and take a trip back in time with me through my ridiculously extensive
collection of ticket stubs... (more)
August 24, 2007- New Nowhere
Fast Comic They're back. This
week: "Plan B"
August 21, 2007- New Music
Tuesday Our two musical
counterparts have both released new songs this week. In addition to adding
two tracks from the 2004 LP Samplified, the new
Poster Boy track "All
the Time in the World"
is now streaming from his myspace page and the unstoppable duo of
TORPEDOphile has unleashed "Damn
Nation"- its political
statement to the world. Both artists are slated to put out albums in 2008.
Speaking of new music, world traveling hip hop/dancehall/reggae/all around
bad ass
M.I.A.
released her sophomore album Kala
today and I strongly suggest you all check it out.
August 15, 2007- Matt's Demo
Reel I've never had a demo
reel before. But, until now, I never really felt like I had a diverse enough
collection of work to warrant one. But, for various reasons, there now
exists a
Matt Ryan Greatest Hits type video thing. Check it out...
July 26, 2007- The Simpsons
Movie As everyone on
the planet is well aware, we will soon live in a world where America's most
popular non-prehistoric cartoon family finally have their own feature film.
It actually seems pretty damn weird to be writing about a
Simpsons
movie...(more)
July 24, 2007- Brave New Site
Changing this site's
look is nothing new for us. Usually, once or twice a year, we (and by that I
mean "I") get bored with looking at it and decide to initiate a make-over.
The big difference this time around is the addition of a slew of new
content. Please notice the list of
projects
at the left of your screen.
Thanks to the glorious existence of
YouTube, much of our actual work is now
online for your viewing pleasure.
More will be added as time marches on and the plan is to broaden our
horizons beyond this being simply an information kiosk. Anyways, there's
lots of video to be found and the entire site is brand-spankin' new. Enjoy.
And don't forget that The Simpsons
Movie opens this Friday.
June 17, 2007- Nowhere Fast @
SAUFF
NOWHERE FAST will be
showing Saturday, June 23rd @ 11am

San Antonio Underground
Film Festival (inside the beautiful
Aztec Theater). Now in its 13th year,
SAUFF

festival is only $8.
Hope to see you there!
April 19, 2007- Charlie's Shakin' Me
Looks like fan-made
videos are becoming the norm. If this keeps up, we might get to make videos for all our favorite bands. This time it's The Red Hot
Chili Peppers and the
song is "Charlie"
off of last year's double album Stadium
Arcadium.
You can watch the finished video
HERE! Be sure to leave us a comment and
feel free to embed that video anywhere you like. *wink* Also on YouTube, a three part making-of series for the video. Enjoy!
March 10, 2007- Nowhere Fast Clips

February 10, 2007- I Dig
Incubus Incubus has personally
selected our
Dig
video as a top five finalist in the "I Dig Incubus"
contest! Pulled from over 100 submissions from around the world. Epic Records
will be flying director Matt Ryan to Los Angeles to attend the final show on the band's
Light Grenades tour on February 13th.
January 24, 2007- Nowhere Fast
Comics Mister Films is proud
to present
nowhere fast
comics! Created as both a compliment to and extension of the
movie of the same name, these mini-adventures will debut on multiple internet locations on a semi-weekly
basis. The quickest
way to find and comment
on them will be to add the
Nowhere Fast Myspace Page as your friend
and
subscribe to the blog.
Also, if you've kept up with us at all through myspace, you may have noticed
we jumped head first into the music video game over the last few months. First, in
November, was a video for our very own
Andrew Rosas. The song is called "All
Night" and is from his
debut album 23rd and 2, which is due out this Spring. Watch the video
HERE.
Right on the heels of that project was a video for multi-platinum rock band
Incubus.
They launched a contest looking for a fan made video for the single "Dig"
off their (already certified gold) album Light Grenades. You can watch the finished video
HERE on YouTube, where you may also find a three-part making of series for the project.
